Calling all blankets, picnic baskets, and candles! The Riverside Clay Tennis Association is once again hosting its series of sunset concerts on the tennis lawn overlooking the Hudson River at 97th Street.

The Series, sponsored by the all-natural beverage CurrantC, celebrates our fabulous park and represents the rich cultural diversity of the Upper West Side. Each concert begins at 7 p.m. and continues through shades of orange, red and purple, ending around 9 p.m. Bring your picnic basket and blanket and join us. Stick around afterward and watch the fireflies rise up out of the lawn and the stars speckle the sky.

Dave Glasser, saxophonist, has performed extensively with the Clark Terry Quintet and the Count Basie Orchestra. For the RCTA performance he will be joined by Yonatan Voltzek on trombone, Jerome Jennings on drums, Dave Robaire on bass, and Yotam Silberstein on guitar.

The Atwaters/Ed Baker (RCTA member Ed Baker, Ron Spitzer, Mark B. Lonergan, and Mark Brotter) bring their unique brand of blues, rock and roots music to the RCTA lawns. Together and separately they have performed and recorded with artists as diverse as Dr. John, Bobby Radcliffe, Band Of Susans, Ernie K-Doe, and others too numerous to mention.

Join us for an evening of an evening Mozart, Handel, and other classical music performed by the renowned Gotham Winds Ensemble.

Saturday, July 26, 7 pm (Sunday, July 27, 7 pm)

Pe de Boi, the samba band headed by Brazilian-born Marcio Sapel, opened for Rod Stewart at the Meadowlands and performs in such local clubs as S.O.B.'s, Jazz Forum, the Blue Note, and the Village Gate. Sapel hemself has performed with Paul Winters, Billy Joel, Keith Richards, Oscar Castro Neves, and Walter Wanderley.

Saturday, August 9, 7 pm (Sunday, August 10, 7 pm)

Efendi, headed by Scott Wilson playing his unique "Baglama Hydra"—a combination oud, saz, and bouzouki—perform music from Turkey, Armenia, Israel, and Greece.
